About Tracie Cason

Tracie Cason serves as a Superior Court Judge in Gwinnett County presiding over Division 2.

Judge Cason handles felony criminal cases, domestic and family law cases, and civil disputes.

She was elected in 2018 in a contested county-wide election. Judge Cason is committed to providing fair and impartial justice to all who appear before her. She wants citizens to know that they will always be heard in her courtroom.

Before being elected to the Gwinnett County Superior Court, Tracie was a career prosecutor with the Gwinnett District Attorney’s Office.

Protecting against Sex Trafficking

In 2017, Tracie worked on “Operation Spring Cleaning,” with the GBI, Gwinnett County Police and Sheriff, and more than twelve other agencies in the largest sting operation of its type in Georgia, resulting in the arrests of 23 predators seeking underage children, all of whom were indicted two days after “Operation Spring Cleaning” ended.

Compassion and Accountability

Judge Cason’s judicial philosophy is based on:

• Keeping our community safe for everyone, especially the most vulnerable.

• Ensuring everyone is heard when it’s their day in court. Victims have rights, and so do the accused, and everyone’s rights must be protected and balanced to achieve justice for all.

• Looking at root causes and preventing repeat offenses.

Judge Cason believes that accountability programs can help many non-violent offenders more than simple punishment. And preventing repeat offenses keeps everyone safer.
